Milan’s EICMA international motorcycle show will be the venue of unveiling Ducati’s latest bike,the Hypermotard 796.An all new model for 2010,the 796 boasts of lighter weight,lower seat height and the incorporation of the feather-light operating APTC clutch(Adler Power Torque Plate Clutch) which eliminates back torque. the power comes from an all new ,air-cooled L-twin motor tat breaths through two valves in each cylinder and puts out abt 81bhp.Ducati hasn’t forgotten to leave out the chassis part of the bike,virtually the same cockpit as on Ducati’s streetfighter is utilized on the new Hypermotard 796.With improved fork clamps and an improved frame that takes things up a notch from the 1100. However, gearing, though feeling shorter than on the Hyper 1100, is still tall enough in the 796’s 6-speed box to prevent easy wheelies in any gear other than first.The best part is that Hypermotard is relatively much cheaper than any of its cousins,with a price tag of $9,995 in the US and is available in some sexy colours.A cheap Ducati? sounds new to me.

All the freaks of MT-01 rejoice,Yamaha has something more for you now, its the all new MT-01 SP, a very limited edition version which is powered by the same monstrous 1670cc V-twin engine that has a superior or rather exceptional sportsbike like handling. Perhaps the most important new feature of the MT-01 SP are 43mm Ohlins front forks which feature “optimal spring and damping settings” from the suspension, a new ohlins setup at the front and rear gives the rider increased road feedback and radical damping combined with awesome stability. The wheels are wrapped with Pirelli Diablo Rosso rubber that is so sticky it doesn’t even need a stand haha. Completing the overall package is the thicker and flatter handlebar crown. A nano-film coating on the exhausts ensures that the bare metal finish remains intact even after many miles on the road and the special paint job completes the package.The bike will be priced at around $26000.

Aston Martin Rapide

Aston Martin’s boss, Ulrich Bez, has every reason to be annoyed. After all, he headed Porsche’s original four door project, the 1989, in the early nineties, before he moved out. Porsche would cull its project in 1991, before reveling the Panamera in 2005. For Bez the Aston Martin Rapid is the best way to get even with his former employers.

From 2010, when the first cars will be emerging from the factory gates at Gaydon, Aston Martin will be re-writing history. For nearly 3 decades now, Aston Martin has been without a four door and with rapid they will awe everyone. It has a mid-mounted 6.0-litre engine which produces an amazing 470bhp @6000rpm and a mouth watering 61kgm of peak torque at 5000rrpm. Linked to the touchtronic 2 auto gearbox that has manual controls as well,the rapide is quicker in acceleration stakes than the panamera s at 5.3 secs to 100kph versus the panamera s’5.4 secs.

For the gorgeous looking four door th work is cut out.Priced at a premium and dangerously close to Panameras turbo variant, the rapid will have more to do than entice potential customers with its looks,and with Aston Martin talking about entering India in another year or two,we are in for a very interesting slug fest.Ulrich Bez will be rubbing his hands in anticipation.

It may borrow its nae from a poisonous fish,but the fuga is anything but that.Actually,its an Infiniti M, badged as a Nissan for the Japanese market. And it has got a substantive face lift. The head lamps and grille have been chiseled out to blend well with those curves, while a more shapely sawage line now runs across the length of the car. A new pinched rump and Jaguar-Esquire tail lamps complete the exterior package while the interiors get a two layered design with a smattering lo wood and aluminum thrown in. The Fuga is powered by the same 3.7-litre V6 block that also powers the Infinite as well as the 370Z, while a new 5.0-liter V8 also makes its debut. The former produces somewhere around 350bhp, while the latter is turned to produce over 400bhp. Fuga will be out in the US early next year.

BMW has gone one step ahead in their quest to leave their mark as the ultimate driving machine in india by launching the BMW Z4.And for once,BMW have ignored issues like fuel quality and gone yhe whole hog by offering us the S-drive35i.The inline-six engine on the Z4 has a capacity of 2993 cc,but produces 306 bhp,thanks to the twin turbos,and helps the roadster hit the tonne in under 5.5 secs and go on to an electrically limited top speed of 250kph. The second generation BMW Z4 roadster has a folding hard top that maximises its utility. Priced across india at Rs 59lakh,the Z4 is smack bang between the Audi TT at one end and the Mercedes SLK at the other and very similar to the Porsche Boxter. Only the Nissan 370Z will be prised at tad lower than all these cars at Rs 40lakh.

2010 Honda VFR 1200 V4 photos suggest that the new Honda with single-sided swingarm and shaft-drive could turn out to be a competitor for Kawasaki 1400GTR.

The Honda VFR 1200 is said to feature a 1200-cc engine with selectable cylinder deactivation system. This feature will reduce fuel consumption by halting fuel supply to specific cylinders under low load conditions, such as when running at a constant speed on a highway. This technology has been used in Honda’s four wheelers and has proved to be efficient as there has been noticeable increase in the mileage of vehicles.

When the cylinders are shut, the engine virtually becomes a 600cc parallel-twin engine, which increases the fuel economy.

Honda President Takeo Fukui, had said that such a technology could increase the 2010 Honda VFR 1200 V4’s economy by 30 per cent.
